I love that I have very little control on how a piece turns out, because it almost always surprises and delights me. The chemical reactions between the water, plants and pigments, create magic.
In this slightly minimalist painting, the background is extra cracked and messy looking and there's a peaceful aged feeling to it that makes me think of ancient marble. I love how the chemical reaction of the grasses on the left made it almost burnt looking. The gold does a beautiful job of highlighting and bringing it all together.
