Nature’s Colour Palette
Sometimes the colours of nature just grab hold of me and won’t let go until I bend to their will. On this one I used powdered watercolours in natural shades. The powdered watercolours are made up of multiple colours that sometimes leave traces without mixing. Gold metallic is a favourite and I add it liberally after laying down the botanicals into the paint.
I often deliberately choose leaves that have holes or are torn, because that is how nature is… perfection in imperfection. I love too that the colours sometimes pool and create lovely deep and rich colours and outlines.
Size: 10 x 14 inches or 25.4 x 35.6 cm
Substrate: Mineral Paper 15pt (75% Calcium Carbonate / 25% Resin)
